I captured this image at a bush in my backyard. For a couple of days in early August the bush was attracting hummingbirds, I haven't seen any recently. Most likely they were moving through the area and have migrated elsewhere. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Nikon D500
Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED shot at 400mm
1/3200 F/8 Matrix Metering EV 0 ISO 900 AWB, I normally would have biased the EV into the + range for the tiny dark bird against the bright sky but the orange/ yellow flowers were blowing out/clipping so they controlled the exposure

Hi Joe,

Great hovering capture. Nice wing position, and love the feet. A plus having the beak open a bit. Well done.

A very nice image. Sharp and detailed. I like the composition and especially the line formed by the angle of the beak continuing to the flowers above.

Very well captured Joe. I like the crop you chose. Nice two coloured BG. Lovely detail on the bird. A really nice flight pose. Wished we got those birds over here, I would love to photograph them.
