Image made during May trip to Yellowstone. One of the Agate pack on a elk kill.
D300, 80-400vr @400, f6.3, 1/200, iso 400.

Wolf images area always powerful I like the stocking pose and overall feel I think cropping some from the top will strengthen the image a lot !!! Excellent !!!

I agree with Alfred's cropping suggestion as the depth of field needed required in this image is more. I would have tried a higher ISO and atleast f8. Overall, a nice image.

Todd, were you hand holding this one? How far away were you? Wolves are a dynamite image maker. Do you have more to share? I like what you have here. It does have some habitat feel and a stalking pose or emotion to it. I assume you were trying to show the wolf coming out of the brush as if it were stalking or ready to feed as the title suggest. It accomplished that. More dof or clarity would be nice. Please do not dump it just because we said that. Personal preferences are just that. Thanks for the share. Please post more.

Nice moment there. Might under-expose further by 1/3-rds stop.
