A worn adult Least Sandpiper was strutting its stuff recently in a half evaporated pond. Fun lying in the still damp muck - 'tis the time of the year!:bg3: The light was getting harsh, but I managed to tame some shadows under the belly, tail and chin via dodge tool - some fill-flash at time of capture would have been good as well.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/2500s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, about 80% FF, eye work, a few of the bright highlights on the bill have been eliminated, as well as some spots in the water.

I don't envy you lying in the muck to get this shot but the low POV and the work you've done to deal with the harsh lighting has really paid off.

A classic DanCad photo!
Nice and low, tack sharp and excellent IQ.
I like the color of the green in the water and the line of vegetation across the frame.
Still waiting for shorebirds to migrate through Ingonish. Very very delayed,
Gail

The light looks good to me. I really like the way you handle the noise from the 7d2, this shot looks good on my screen.

Cheers

Nice low angle here like the raised foot and the green all around the bird.
