Taking a mid-day walk with one's family, on a sunny, crowded beach in mid-July, is probably not the optimum situation for a photographer. But when this chick suddenly appeared in our path, I couldn't resist dropping down for a few frames. He and a parent had escaped their roped off protective area and were headed toward the water, through a gauntlet of dogs, frisbees, inflatable sharks and other obstacles. He stopped to find a treat while the parent looked on from a respectable distance.

Bill, you did well with the harsh light, great pose, details and angle, I know catchlight is just about impossible on these juveniles, so good job overall.

I love the impeccably clean scene in this one, and the action caught is lovely. Looks like you got the exposure spot on - nice details

This is pretty nice considering the conditions you describe. I like the composition and the food item.

What a cutie just going about having a snack. Nicely handled under the harsh light and busy conditions. Great detail and nice POV. Well done, Bill.
