Hi John, to date this for me is your best, it has a lovely tranquil feel to it. Personally I would prefer to have a lower POV rather than what appears be shooting down, but that might not have been an option???? The alert look, ears pricked up adds to the pose. Stepping back and sooting at the full 400 I feel might have been better and probably where it's the sharpest.

With regard to being Saturated I'm not sure. John importing it into LR and if you reduce the contrast and colour balance the grass habitat, more of the dappled light starts to come through and the light is more layered. Likewise with the detail & clarity of the image, everything starts to look crisp & sharp and depth starts to appear within the capture I feel. You still retain the 'richness' of the 'golden light', but your not just flooding the image with colour choking the detail, you just need to refine the colour more in LR and often with a light touch when processing the RAW image John, this is where you turn a 2D image into a 3D one.

Thanks Steve, the fawn is on a small hill i am below it about eye level. I didn't do anything to the saturation on this image just lowered the exposure and highlights then set a white and black point.

Thanks John, so very minimal PP changes? Therefore a question for you, are you leaving the WB as the camera saw it when the shutter was triggered and not touching it in PP?

If the answer is yes, then try this small exercise as you use LR. With the RAW create a virtual copy and in the Development Module go to Camera Calibration and change it to Faithful, Landscape & Neutral but with same additional changes you made to the OP and see if it makes any difference, but more importantly does it look better or worse? If it's a positive one then can you post it as this may help in addressing the comments that the images look too 'Saturated', just a thought.

Very pretty subject and indeed one of your best images, dear John - wonderful work! Light is beautiful and what lovely alert pose from the deer. Techs look good. So does the framing, although if I were to nitpick I'd say it is still a wee bit tight on the bottom in terms of the virtual feet, what do you think?
