When the nice light shines on these birds, it really does make a difference. Captured on the Isle of Islay, West coast of Scotland.

Clean, clear capture of this beauty, William. The light is as you describe, Nice. Beautiful colors captured all around, including the foreground grasses and the smooth BG. Like the alert pose and head angle with plume.

I am loving this Will. What a beautiful bird in nice light. A really attractive background and transition to the background. Wish we had a little view of the feet.

I love this shot, your framing and treatment. Missing feet don't worry me - the cost of the low POV. I don't have familiarity with this bird or its colouring. I'm guessing the wings are showing iridescent reflections? If that's the case, I've often had trouble photographing these features myself on other birds as they tend to look more washed out in the final capture than I remembered the scene. In this case, would it work to selectively darken highlights in that part of the bird to bring out that stunning iridescence?

Will, nice angle, colors and BG bait more contrast would really make this a standout IMO.
Very nice.

Wonderful Will, yes a bit more punch for this already knock out image. Love the colors, the BG too. Well done

Lovely low capture Will, I'm guessing good fieldcraft was the order of the day here. I agree that the colours are a touch thin.
