I photographed this Little Tern this morning about 25 miles north of Dublin. Very similar to your Least Tern. The Least tern differs from Little Tern mainly in that its rump and tail are gray, not white, and it has a different, more squeaking call. 1d2n Sigma 500 iso320

Good exposure control, details and look back pose. They really look very similar compared with Least Terns here. I wish for a bit more of a banking pose so the entire head would be visible. There are some artifacts in the BG, maybe from reopening the jpg file?

Good catch light and head angles. As noted, a banking pose would have exposed the head a little more. Interesting read, thanks!

Sharp with a perfect EXP and eye highlight but the pose is unappealing. Best conditions would be with wind and light from the relatively same direction.

Maybe the pose is not perfect, but still a very neat image Craig!
