Captured this image of the BHCO a few days ago at a local wildlife preserve with it's foster mother, a Common Yellowthroat. The BHCO has an interesting way of raising its young.....IT DOESN'T ! The females sometimes lay more than 36 eggs a summer in the nests of other birds to be raised by them. C&C welcome.

I love the DOF here Geoffrey. Beautiful detail on the bird with a lovely pose. The greens in the BG show the bird real well. Sounds like similar egg laying antics as the cuckoo

Like the pose, perch, and BG here with a nice head turn. Crop works well here as the head and body are going difference directions. Interesting parenting tactics too! TFS

Really nice image, Geoffrey. If you placed the bird you could not have found a more perfect position. Sharp detail, nice color on the bird, lovely composition. Thank you for sharing.
