Finally saw a fawn in a none cluttered setting the other evening. Took a few frames of this backlit fawn. Image adjustments in Lightroom. Hand held, full frame.

Hi John - I like backlit images and this is a sweet one. The shooting angle isn't ideal. Looks like you were looking down on the fawn. Again, I would prefer just a bit more room below but this is better than your earlier posts in that regard.

Thanks Rachel, the fawn is on a small hill i am below it about eye level. I was also kneeling when i took this.

Nicely seen John, the colour and rim lighting are a standout here, would have liked a lower POV for added DOF and would have tried lying flat on the ground if at all possible.

Agree with Marc, one last option was lying flat on the ground, but maybe there were thorns or nettles so I don't blame you:t3

This fawn is very pretty, so are its lush surroundings - is this close to your home? Lovely pose, the backlighting makes this more interesting. Well exposed. Framing almost there with just a tad missing at the bottom for the virtual legs (we are all going to nitpick on this issue until you remember out there in the field, LOL). There's a flower stem sticking out from the rear of the subject, mmm...me thinking you could have waited for the subject to make a step forward:) Removing it is an option, all depends on your ethics. The stem in front of its neck is not an issue to me as it is not at an awkward angle. I would reduce the yellows ( saturation) a bit in places, grass a tad too vibrant and this works to the detriment of the fawn, you want him to stand out:)
