This is an image of the female snail kite just after she left the cyprus tree. The male had come in with a snail and she flew out of the nest expecting to get it but the male turned around and ate it himself. Needless to say she was not pleased. The weather was pending rain all morning so not the greatest light.

Awesome Judy, love the wing position, the slightly open beak and the detail.

Amazing.

Judy I like the full upsweep of the wings and the dangling feet.

I like the wing position and dangling feet and the story behind it. The catchlight looks rather large.

Great pose, Judy she looks wonderful. I think there's a slight magenta cast caused by poor lighting condition, in Color balance, move the magenta/green slider an couple of points towards the greens.

Hi Judy, Just realized that you have the same initials as my older daughter, Jennifer Laruen Morris. I love the raised wings but the color balance looked way off to me; there seemed to be too much red/magnenta. I used Robert O'Toole's Average Blur trick to balance the color, worked a bit on the eye, and added a bit of black to the neutrals and the blacks.

While looking at the repost I realized that this could use a crop from the bottom and the left to tighten things up.
