I captured this image at Three Lakes Wildlife Management Area in Kenansville, Florida. I was at the end of Road 16 where the parking area is to walk to the lookout tower on the shore of Lake Jackson. The bird was perched on a metal railing, part of a water control facility next to the parking area. I have always seen these birds as black, never did I imagine the colors in the feathers. Only on processing the image did I see the greens, purples etc. much like the colors on a Glossy Ibis. I now have a different appreciation for Black Vultures. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Light looks a little harsh here, nice composition, a little more room on the top.

Wow re: the subtle colors in the feathers. Amazing how the light brings things out in black feathers. In this case, the harsher light worked in your favor.
Good IQ and head turn.
Yes to a bit more on top,
Gail
