I captured this image a few days ago, early morning, next to the Ocean City Rookery. C&C welcome.

Geoffery, nice heron, I like everything except for the HA, nice details, and colors.

Good one, Geoffrey. Love the water drops on the bill.

I was sure from the thumbnail that I would not like this image with the bird angled away. But once i saw that splash I changed my mind. It is quite an interesting image. I am left to wonder, is there a little baitfish on the way down? I love the look of the splash. Any idea what's going on with the legs???

Whew! I was hoping if Artie sees the thumbnail, he'll see the splash too. No baitfish. Not sure there is anything going on with the legs. If you mean the upper portion looks light orange, in my observations there are several shades. Thanks Artie.

:) To me the legs look like the scutes are shedding, sort of like a snake. But I have never seen or heard of that.
