This image is from a few years ago when I had an opportunity to photograph a colony of burrowing owls in SoCal with Dave Salem. The daddy owl was working hard all evening feeding the 5 hungry chicks and protecting them. I though this image is appropriate for the occasion to honor all the fathers, including the daddy owl

A beautiful and intimate moment captured here. Poses are fantastic and details and light are to die for. Just about perfect.

Thanks all, Steve most of the rock was outside DOF and also a few white wash spots that I cloned. Best

Sweet pose, light, detail, everything. DOF looks nice too and that half open eye is just great. All your owl images are great but your burrowing owl ones are really something special. TFS

What a fun few years we had with these guys!! Love the nice colors and poses and the details look fantastic. The interaction is beautiful as the baby takes the meal from daddy. I thought I saw this image displayed at the museum. Glad you got to experience these guys before it was over. Well done

Absolute stunner, dear Arash!

Love the interaction, this is such a wonderful behavioural capture. Beautiful detail and perfect HA, lots of expression from both subjects.

I see you are still chasing beautiful light... How you get your subjects to pose so well for you remains a mystery to me:w3

Warmest regards,
