This little guy has made a home in a brush pile near our house. He seems to be out singing away every morning.
He is also very quick!

Tough conditions to photograph in. The +2/3 EV has blown out the perch and whatever morsel is in the bill. Your best friend here would have been fill-flash instead. Good looking bird that can be difficult to photograph :-)

Very nice pose and BG Sid. Daniel covered everything else. thanks for sharing.

Have to agree with Daniel about the fill flash here Sid. It would have allowed a more even exposure. Thanks for posting!

Sid I have to agree with the others about the exposure. That being said I don't have anything on this species.

Very nice eye contact and BG. If this is RAW, you might be able to get some details back in the overexposed parts.

A lot going for the image with the head angle, perch (at a diagonal), and food. The harsh light, fill-flash need has been covered.

All of the problems noted above are caused more by the poor light angle than by the quality of the light... Best to simply point your shadow at the bird... I do like the BKGR.
