I got this shot last night in Central Minnesota just after sunset. Canon 7Dll, Sigma 18-35 at 35 mm f3.2 1/1250, 500 iso, handheld

Hi Michael

For me, the Owl is a little small in the frame if its the subject... I would also tend to frame this so that tree sneaking into the frame from the right was either completely eliminated or a little more completely than it is.. Probably I would try and clone it out as it is.. there are quite a few dust spots over the image, above and left of the owl and also above the tree top. Finally I would pump up the colour a little more, many ways to do that but the easiest way in Photoshop is to duplicate the image and then select 'multiply' in the layers option in place of 'normal', then adjust the opacity slide to suit...50% seems about right to me..Blacks are fully black (as they should be in silhouettes..)

Good tips already from Don. The size of the owl in the frame and where it is perched is making it a little lost within the composition. Is it a Great Gray Owl?
