Lying prone, camera resting on bean bag on the side of the pond. Canon 1DX Canon 100-400 L IS II & 1.4TC (such a flexible combination!)
Auto ISO 200 1/200 sec f11.

It's all happening now about half a dozen or so emerged today, the dragons should be emerging in the next week to ten days.

I would run a luminosity layer over the who subject Jon to reduce the brightness and bring more depth/detail back. Then crop more off the top and bottom, the OOF red blob at the foot is a bit distracting.

BTW did you use LV?

Good job of getting down on your subject's eye level. I like the reposts (I'm not sure which one is more true to the colors you saw in your subject). Good sharpness on the subject and enough DOF to get much of the exuvia sharp as well. I like the top and bottom crops on Steve's repost, but you might consider cropping a little more from the right as well.

Steve I used ACR & PSCC, I think your version is as you suggest too much. It is tempting to put more detail in teneral damselflies and I suppose we sometimes have to decide on trying to present it as it was or try to enhance the detail to what might be visually more satisfying. In truth my original is nearest.
