Early morning, Cape Coral, Florida, I was capturing images of a female Burrowing Owl when this owlet marched out of the burrow, penguin walking to the top of the mound. It turned to face me, it's actions saying look at me. I moved my camera to photograph it noticing that the wings appeared to long for the body. It standing robot like reminded me of R2D2 of robot fame which in my mind I nicknamed it. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

I like the pose of the owl. Just wish the owl was a little lower in the frame and a touch to the left. Still nice though.

Good pose and stare Joe, looks like he/she was telling you "I got wet!". Have you experimented with a vertical crop? Beautiful eyes. TFS.

Nice one with a good view of the feet, good background and eye contact. are you sure this is not the other adult? It looks like it's breast feathers and bars look too well developed to be this years hatch. love the R2D2 reference, may the force be with you!

Yes, it looks like a wet grownup to me. I'd go for just a bit off the left.

with love, artie

The wet/bedraggle look is really appealing and a nice departure from your previous postings Joe. Agree with Artie, a tad off the left taking it off a central position would be good.

Hi Joseph,

I have never seen an owl looking so upset! Delightful pose and so unusual, love it... The words that come to mind as I am viewing are "sulky owlet":)

Lovely capture indeed, thank you for sharing,

Kind regards,
