On short business trips, I do not carry my big guns and cameras. I am traveling light and carrying only the new Canon Rebel XSI and a 24-105 f/4L IS.

So here is a shot of Boston cityscape done last week:

Adddendum, to the general suggestion here is the pano version:

Hi JD,
I might take a bit off the sky to a bit over the white clouds to emphasize the city even more. the boat does make this one even nicer!

Yep, know that scene well. Agree the boat really added to the balance and interest of the image. Would make a great pano too.

Ahh? I haven't thought about that...

Thanks Robert

Nice image of the skyline. I would agree with Robert that it would be even better as a pano, taking away some of the negative space up top. How long did you have to wait for the boat to get to the right spot?

In response to the "general" advice on making a pano, here my attempt to it.

Hope this is better.

And to answer Rich question, I was up and shooting that morning at 5h30am before the business day starts (no shave, no shower...yet) I took the shot at 5h51 am so I did not wait long for the boat to pass by. I have 3 shots of this scene with the boat at 3 different positions. To me, it was the best boat position of the three showing the whole boat "movement"
