This little guy spent an obliging 20 minutes posing and preening
5D4 400 LIS mkII and 2xtc mkIII ISO16 f8 1/800
Unfortunately he had moved to the sun side at this point so the had colours are a bit muted

Nice detail Mike. I wish you had the head colour better, but, not easy without the sun at the perfect angle.

Excellent wing flap, nice and sharp. Well exposed for the whites, and a nice velvety look to the blacks on the head. I don't know if you could open up the head just a touch without losing that.

This Mike ^^^,it's such a cracking take, but we know those purples are lurking and how much light can help, but it's blighty, you did incredibly well, just needs that bit of pazazz which is not always given here

very cool Mike I'd love this to me mine

I like the overall body angle. Fill-flash would have done wonders for the face here, but I think you may be able to open up those purples a bit in post. I also think the image may need a bit of CCW rotation. I love the texture on the neck/breast/belly.

Thank you for your comments, everyone. I will see what I can do lifting the colours on the head.
