A nice clean image Tim with an ultra soft BG. The complimentry colours of red and green work well here.
I would have given a bit more space all around but thats just my personal taste. (You have to love that 180 macro)!!

Everything looks great.....except for one, overall sharpness. It doesnt look blurry but I think a run of USM would really enhance the success of the image.
Otherwise, BG, colors, details, DOF are all good.

I agree with John on the framing, I would go with a little more room also.

Sweet! I like this capture. I agree on both counts. The framing and the USM.

Other than that it's an excellent capture.

Thanks guys. I've been working on my sharpening somewhat due to a few comments I've received on over sharpening. Looks like I need to find a happy medium:cool:

Hey Tim, I really like the shot and nice diagonal positioning. I like the crop, but I like tight shots. I'm on a small monitor so the sharpness doesn't look bad.

Mike, thanks.

Here's a repost with more sharpening using the tips from David. It is full frame.

Thanks,

The repost is lovely! What a beautiful image, Tim. The details of everything from the body of the insect to the tiny dew drops are just perfect. Nice work!

Tim,,,,the repost is worlds better in clarity. I also like the looser crop, but that's stictly a personal preference.

In case anyone is interested, here's a link to the method I recommended to Tim.

Julie, thanks for the nice comments.

David, that's for the help. I've got a few other images to work on!

A clean take. Loved the repost. Small water droplets in its body makes this image special. The water droplet on top of the stem (included in the repost) adds to the image too.
