Several days ago Bill, Joanne and I decided to go to Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, since the road was open, and there had been reports of many Snow Geese. We saw roughly 2500 and at one point, near the road they were taking off and landing in the shallows. We had a mix of bright sun and defused light through the clouds. C&C welcome.

D500, Nikon 500mm f4/G, 1/3200s, f 7.1, ISO 2500, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley Gimbal head.

Sounds like it was a good trip Geoffrey. You captured the geese well and I like the separation between the two birds. The FG gives the image depth and takes it up a notch. Nice detail and flight pose on both birds, one wings down, one wings up. I was wondering what it would look like if you lightened up the BG a wee bit!

Nice one

I love the one wing up - one wing down flight poses, the tiniest bit of separation between the birds, and the sense of habitat. I'd be tempted to take out the blurry stuff in the upper left background, and maybe give a touch of selective sharpening to both heads.

Thanks much William and Bill. I had gone back and forth on just the points brought up by both of you, with the exception of Bill suggesting selective sharpening both heads, which was a good observation. Did apply all suggestions in repost.
