Here is a Northern Pintail from Central Park in New York City.

Canon 1DX and Canon 500 f4 ii. ISO 640, F6.3, SS 1/1600

Converted in DPP 4.5. In PS I cropped, applied NR and sharpened.

I like this shot a lot -- great looking bird and head angle. Perhaps just my screen but I'm seeing some blues showing up in the blacks and whites like in the bill and the breast / under neck. The image quality looks great, so wondering as a learning thing -- why did you use NR at a relatively low ISO? Thanks for sharing Isaac,

Everything needs NR. Even at such low ISO and with a 1dx, there is noise in the dark areas and in the water especially. I apply NR to every shot. Used to use the NIK software but have been using Neat Image as described by Arash in his great ebook.

looks very nice Issac, I just wish the water was like glass :D I myself was shooting golden eyes a few weeks back and when I look at my files I wish for a cleaner water with no ripples :S3:

I agree that clear water would have been better for this one. But in spite of that I kind of like how the bird blends in with the ripples and the reflection of the trees in the background.
