American Goldfinch.

I had set up for a flock of Evening Grosbeaks, but they did not take the perches I had for them, but the American Goldfinches did! Here's one that offered a teasing look-back pose before hopping down to the sunflower seed plate I had placed just below.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/400s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, small crop to help the comp, eye work, toned down some areas of the lichen via burn tool.

Dan I would not be disapointed about the Grosebeaks this is super. Great perch and the looking back pose put it over the top.TFS

A fine shot Dan, lovely pose and a great perch.
(Not sure if I wouldn't lower the high key effect - I appreciate it is intentionally high key but wonder if the subject would have a tad more impact if the brightest tones were lowered a bit. Purely a personal view I am sure many will disagree).
