Martial Eagle with a wart hog. Biggest of the African Eagles captured on my last photo safari in Kenya.
Spent around 20 minutes at this scene and got quite a few shots of it attempting to take off, etc.

love the view of the prey, good details. overall the eagle is a bit too dark, it looks like you brightened the pupil in post which looks a bit unnatural given the rest of the bird that's dark (light was a bit harsh here) and he is too large in the frame. I'd loosen up the crop if you can

That is an imposing picture, Bryan. I agree with Arash on the darkness of the image but it is obvious that the lighting was harsh.

good capture of the rawness of nature with the kill and the flies. I wonder if you could bring up the shadows a bit if that would help?

Amazing eagle in a great pose, and the prey adds to the image. Yes, it's too dark and too large in the frame. Worth going back to the RAW file and making a few adjustments.

I concur with pervious comments - loosen the crop a little and lighten up the eagle a bit. He really does look like an imposing predator - well caught, a few tweaks and this would really chime.

I agree with Arash's comments. I also see that you have used a zoom lens, did you make any more images which are less tighter than the image above? I love raptors and to me, this is already a winner, but a bit of tweaking will take it to the next level. Thanks for sharing.
