Awesome capture. Beautiful coloring on the open wing. Like the composition, post and bg. f5, 1/3200 ISO800 - Thinking there was plenty of light and that the exposure could come up a bit.

Hi Mike,
such a beautiful image, congrats... terrific detail throughout on the owl. Love the open down wing and would only suggest moving the bird to the left if you have room rather than centered... TFS

Pretty sweet. That wing detail is killer as noted by all above.

Was the bird blind or did it just have its near eye closed? I suspect the former. Thanks for your continuing membership support.

Thank you for your comments everyone.

Art: the bird had its eye closed at this point - the keeper had been flying it earlier in the session
John: I agree it could do with being a bit lighter (maybe 1/3 to half a stop) but I was being very cautious regards the whites

Very nice image, love the colors and detail of the feathers, cool to catch a glimse of its prey too, nice!!

These birds have such lovely plumage, and you've captured it nicely.

ThThanks Mike. The closed eye -- bad luck -- is a negative for me ...

Mike, You can always pin the top of the curve and then pull the curve up to lighten the middle and darker tones ... LMK if you have no clue as to what I am talking about :)
