Taken in Iceland on a small island. The rain had stopped and i was making my way to the waters edge along a gravel path when i spotted this male red-necked phalarope. He was preening and eventually settled, allowing me to be on the ground and inch my way to him. This is nearly full frame and with the tc on...

I wanted to preview and sharpen before i posted but mistakenly posted , i can see it needs another round of sharpening....

Lovely image, Ann. Nice soft colors. Maybe F/8 would have extended the depth of field so that the tail would be in sharp focus. No big thing, lovely as it is. Thank you for sharing.

Lovely shot my first reaction before I read anything was "maybe another bit of sharpening" , I like the low angle and the colours.
I think at that magnification there wouldn't be a great deal of increase in DOF Joe, a bit but not a lot.

Hi Ann, I like the repost better. Lovely POV and I like the greens in FG and BG. Lovely detail on the bird.

Nice one

Ann this is lovely. The red-brown vs. green color works out really well here. I love the blurred FG, too!

The extra sharpening did help and I like the overall color and details of this frame. I might try selectively lightening the face a bit but otherwise a solid frame. Well done Ann
