I captured this image of an American White Ibis in breeding colors showing the gular sac. Some of the reading I have done about the sac says both sexes develop it, other reading attributes it to only the female, so I am not sure. Both sexes develop the scarlet color during breeding. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Amazing breeding colors on the Ibis; nice detail and good exposure of the whites.

This definitely qualifies as a "Birds as Art" image, Joe. Some wildlife imagery goes beyond technical quality to reveal the character of the species, and this one does it for me, well done.

Cheers, David

And a good job of getting the face and bill parallel to the imaging sensor.
