From the season's first significant snowfall, when the grasses and short vegetation was still not fully covered. This was a lone individual by the shore of the river, but now that the snow is deep they have amassed by the hundreds in agricultural areas to spend the winter months.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/400s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, FF, eye work including adding a catchlight.

Hi Daniel, I really like this shot -- in particular, the grass stems poking out from the snow, the snow on the beak and the snow falling, and the catchlight on the eye is great. No nits from me -- thanks for sharing this

Lovely shot here Daniel. Great profile view, and I really like both the falling snow, and the green grasses still showing. Very well done.

Super shot Dan, I note there is very slight clipping, I suspect this occurred at conversion.
I would be tempted to apply a luminosity mask and reduce the very brightest highlights. WDYT?

Another beautiful shot of this cutie. Once again I love the bits of green grass, and the snow tops if off.

A nice delicate shot here. Love the falling snow and the grass and little leaves showing through the snow. Great low perspective as well. I would give it some clockwise rotation to level out the snow line and the horizon line in the background.

Your effort in all types of weather really pays off the low perspective and composition makes this a wonderful image
