Lovely Keith, the low light has really given us a good look at this wonderful eyes, and a nice inquisitive pose as well. Good BG and overall a very pleasing shot.

Beautiful pose and perch against a perfect background. Great eye contact. I have only seen this species once and very briefly. Would love to get a better look and a shot like this would be great.

I think your shot would be even better if it had a little more pop. I did a version where I brightened it a bit, added some saturation and brightened the face as well. You probably could push it even more but better done with the original. Thoughts?

Keith, your version looks good to me I like the colours and the pose.
Yes I like as is however, I would investigate increasing the sharpening a little bit to see if you could tease out some detail or try a little more clarity on the owl on your raw conversion, I think this could lift it a fraction, I may well be wrong but I think it is worth having a look.
(Any queries give me a call:w3)

just an fyi, on my version I did also increase the sharpening a tiny bit on the bird. Forgot to mention that.

Hi Keith,

Sweet shot. I like Isaac's respost due to the boosted colors and increased exposure. It may be me or my screen but I'm seeing a magenta cast on the image, in particular the bird's head, near the rump, and near the eyes, and some on the post. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Keith,
Great looking frame. I really like the pose, perch and BG.
Details look good too. The repost looks brigher and sharper but I to see a magenta cast. Just needs to be warmed up a bit. Well done[
