Hi folks not sure if this qualifies for this month theme .... i am myself 50/50 .
So you are the judges ...tell me your thoughts .
Image taken in Hluhluwe Game Reserve in sept 2014.... Gabriela i forgot where ????? in the park .
Close to evening i went on a not that much frequented route ( remember that ) and waited for the elephants along the rest of a river , as i had heard them in the forest cracking trees . I hoped that they would come along that waters edge .... and they did , the herd was a lot bigger but all others decided to move along another route .

Canon EOS 1Dx
Ef 200-400 IS L at 400 MM
HH with bean bag support

F 7,1 ; Iso 2000 ; 1/500 sec

Processed with C1 and PS CC 2017 ; cropped for comp . Have not used LAB color mode for a longer time , this time i did in an intermediate step during processing to get the greenery punchy and more variations in the different hues of the greens .

Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous thread .

Cheers Andreas

Certainly fits the theme as far as I can tell Andreas. Totally natural look to the view with the ele's clearly unaware of your presence and just going about their business. Not as much 'pop' as you normally produce, but looking at the trees probably very close to how it was at the time.

Noce interaction within the group and a pleasing shot to view.

Hi Andreas - I think it qualifies as a riverine-scape. Nice that all three heads are visible. This doesn't always happen with a grouping of elephants. I think the greens look very natural and like the placement of the eles in frame. Well done.

Hi Andreas -- Nice placement in the frame and the greenery looks very pleasing. I always like the way you keep experimenting with different things in post processing , certainly helps us in understanding various aspects of processing .

TFS !

Hi Andreas, I like the processing, there is a good sense of depth to the image. The whole image is nicely composed and there is good detail in the elephant hide.
( I have been messing about recently with DxO getting good results too)

Beautiful image Andreas and so vibrant!

This spot is just before Maphumulo picnic site, Boet:) Been there last Sunday and there is water again, yay! The place has been dry for about two years, a bit of rain in the catchment areas helped a lot, now the ellies and buffaloes are back.

Well composed and in terms of colour just perfect, I am delighted with this frame. Love the fact that you went back to those folders - I never got to see your images while you were staying with us.

Warmest regards,

I like the framing overall and also the way you have used the trees & bushes to also arch around the subjects. Personal taste, but I do feel the green a bit too punchy, but your call.

Thanks Steve , much appreciated .
I like the punchy greenery in this case , was too flat in first place .

Cheers Andreas

I like this, Andreas - screams "South African Reserve" to me :5
I think you can reduce the clarity of the bushes a bit to make the elephants pop out some more?
