Cross light, harsh light. This guy has been hanging out at the DF wetlands for the last month and lofts when you are 1/4 mile away, this time, shock ,shock, he flew towards us and the ROB (right on buy). These guys are not what one would call a fixture in my neck of the woods.

Enough excuses yet?:p

Nice pose and composition Nonda! You did well considering the challenging lighting. I like the sharpness of the 300 with a 2x.

.......................naaaah we need a few more :D:):)

You did real well taming the harsh light I like the fine detail and white reproduction, the hottest part is the top of the far wing but not affecting much. Which he would have taken a glance in your direction but you know how those birds are !!! Glad you he gave you a good look !!!! ... btw love the wing position!!!!

More?? Can provide;)

Really lots to thank this list for, I actually watched for wing position, made about 8 frames total. Brain didn't go into full park mode, let me tell you about the RTH from last fall that brain went into total meltdown:D I had my exposure fairly well dialed in prior to him getting close..Please see BIP (brain in park) above.

I knew to work and the beak and eye.

So thanks to the help I have had here I didn't blow the very first time I was ever close to one of these guys!

Beautiful capture Nonda. I like the position of the wings a lot. Every time I see one around here they take off before I can get anywhere close. Congrats.

Sid he did take off before we got close, usually he leaves the area, got very lucky for some reason.

A fabulous shot Nonda. Love the blue sky and the feather detail in the wings in particular.
