Silver Gull (Chroicocephalus novaehollandiae)
NSW, Australia

Nikon D4 | 500mm f/4 II | 1.4xTC iii | Boogie Board gimbal mount | Manual exposure | 1/1600 f/8 ISO 1000| 40% crop canvas from all sides

Not my usual style but I was playing around with the luminance slider in ACR and liked the blurred effect more than the original, a little bit arty or junk? I would love to get your thoughts...

Personally I think I would probably prefer it with a more typical processing. I don't mind an artistic shot but I would rather see it done in camera with a slow shutter speed if you are going for some blur. The feet in particular look odd to me in this example. That's just my take on it though and this sort of thing is highly subjective.

I agree, in camera blur would be much more pleasing and realistic. I like the color palette and the pose.

I love the pose, exposure, details, the eye, and the BG but I don't love the blurred effect. I would like to see the version without the blurr.
Looks like it should have looked fine?

Thanks for comments everyone, very much appreciated. Here is the non-arty version for comparison.

The original has a watercolour feel to it but the legs look odd with the white (as opposed to orange) 'halo' round them.
I am sure there are images where the original effect would work, but unfortunately this isn't one of them. Thank for posting, anyway - things like this can always act as inspiration.

Aaah, repost or original gets my attention, the initial blurred post looked too "ghosty" around the edges... Lovely gull and the catch is a bonus.
