From Chincoteague NWR a few days ago. I like the way the bird presented himself for a diagonal composition, anchored by the grasses in the LRC lit by the late afternoon sun. C&C always appreciated.

D500, 500f4 + 1.4 TC, ISO 800, 1/3200s @ f/6.3 manual. Bit of canvas added left and top.

Just down the road from me. Love the light and dripping water. Lovely shot. Might remove the debris on mid right side.

Very nice take-off, Bill. Love the late afternoon light on this beauty and the trailing water. I like the layers of shadow from the wing and body of the bird. Good detail and BG.

Very pleasant image, good details and colours in the heron, lovely lighting. I like the trailing water from the feet, the grasses on the RHS are fine for me in fact I regard them as beneficial.

Good take off pose, and I like the comp. Nice light, and the grasses in LRC add context to the habitat. Although seemingly minor, I'd be tempted to evict the black line crossing behind the very first blade of grass (under the feet) as my eye catches it. Good stuff thought!

Thanks everyone.

John, I briefly considered removing the oof grasses at the mid-right side, but decided they helped add some depth to the image.

Daniel, I hadn't noticed that bit of black debris until you pointed it out. Here I've evicted it.
