I had a trip to Cairngorm at the weekend in search of these little beauties. I was on Cairngorm mountain, where I knew I had a chance of seeing them. and baited a rock, not covered in snow, with some peanuts. After waiting, and waiting, in sub zero temperatures, and gusty winds, a flock of seven finally arrived. I have some 'clean' images of the birds, but, I thought this one showed the severe conditions, they survive in.

I'm OK with the habitat here, I just with the longer blades of grass did not cut across the bunting's throat. The exposure may seem a touch dark (especially the midtones), I am sure that was how it was at the time so I will leave that to artistic interpretation. I do feel the blue cast is too strong though.

Hi Daniel, thanks for the critique, much appreciated. I have made some changes as you suggested, apart from the cloning on the neck area.

I like this Will,I find it a bit difficult showing just how much blue you need in snow scenes ,think your repost looks about right to me.
