Caught this female Merlin as she took off in pursuit of dragonflies. Was lucky to get this frame with her wings fully extended. I believe this is this the same individual that has migrated into our area 3 years in a row. Nikon D5, 600mm with 1.4TC, F5.6, 1/4000 sec, ISO 640 shot off beanbag in car window. Thanks for looking and all CCs welcome.

Glenn, great blast off… nice and sharp, nice catch light, BG, HA and wing position.

Great dynamic pose, lovely bg, perfect raised wings, HA. I might get rid of the second catchlight (did you use flash?)

I have the frame about a millisecond before but my wing position is not quite as nice as yours.
This is such a beautiful frame with killer details, great colors, beautiful background, and a perfect composition.
I agree about removing the second catch light. Well done

It's all been said already. Just a perfect frame for me. Perfect wing position and color palette. I would not change a thing.

No flash Bill. thanks for the comment. I considered removing the lower catch light, probably should have.

Full marks from me for this one - no crit required, simply a top drawer shot.
