With Autumn coming to an end around my home in central Ontario I have finally had some time to start processing some of the image files. Aside from the glorious reds and yellows of sugar maple trees I am often drawn to the cinnamon-like tones of ferns as they prepare to go dormant for the coming winter. On this particular day in Ontario's Torrance Barrens it was a dark and dreary with a strong wind hence the need to dial the ISO up to 800 and wait for the slightest lull in the wind. I was drawn to the diagonal line created by the fern leaves and composed a scene that maintained this diagonal from the upper left to the lower right.
Nikon D800
Nikon 18-35mm @ 18mm
ISO 800
f8 @ 1/20 sec
