African Sacred Ibis (Threskiornis aethiopicus)

HH - D7100 + 300mm f4 AF-S + 1,4TC
1/1250th – f5.6 ISO 200
68% Crop

LR - maybe needs a little"lift" in processing

(blacks still noisy even at ISO 200 - I never really liked the D7100 as it was somewhat inconsistent for me - I took the shot a couple of years ago - a year after I started bird photography and the D7100 was an upgrade from the D300)

image reprocessed today

Looks like the bird has had its fair share of a rough time. I really like the pose. The whole habitat looks busy but I think it complements the bird I think. I think it needs a little leveling.

it's a unique bird, never seen one of these before. I am not sure about the square crop and a bit dark overall. wish the water was a bit cleaner

I never shoot birds at ISO 200, you risk getting soft frames due to motion blur. But there shouldn't by any noise at ISO 200. I am not sure if the RAW was underexposed or the processing steps/software is not optimal here or maybe the RAW was soft and needed too much sharpening (?)
