Normally a bird of foliage, this one was down looking for nesting material and having trouble with the big bundle of fibers.
1DXII 70-200mm f/2.8L & 2xIII 400mm 1/200 f10 iso800 +.7

very much like a Cape White-eye, (Zosterops virens) - Colin - must look it up to see if they are cousins

maybe a little over-cooked and over-sharpened for me, whites a little hot! - but that's just my preference


[EDIT: just looked it up - Silvereye is (Zosterops lateralis) - so they are - Lessor White-eyes ]

Not in Australia, we do have a couple of White-eyes in far Northern Australia.

Hi Colin, what a unique looking bird, beautiful colors and the white markings around the eye very different makes the eye pop even more, I also find it a bit "bright' maybe just the whites, Still great job TY for sharing.
