Red tail hawk in the predawn. This is a considerable crop I had to physically back up to get more color in the background. Shooting this close up and tight had mostly dark tones in the background. Please critique and comment.

This is indeed very beautiful. I really like the silhouette of the beak here and the diagonals from the branches work really well. Admittedly I would clone out that branch that cuts into the body.

You had an amazing sky! Perfect colours and cloud puffs. Well done with the silhouette against it too. Yes, the small twig ouching the hawk would be better not there, and I would also remove a couple of the small bits of branches coming into the frame at the edges (e.g. lower left corner, and upper right corner). Really nicely seen, well done overall.

Fantastic sky and composition another vote for cloning out some of the branches.

This is lovely. Branches already been mentioned but wow what a great looking sky. I also love the pose on the bird.

Well done John

This looks great!! This what a silhouette shot is all about. The sky color looks fantastic and I like that we can see the hawks curved beak well. I agree about the removal of a few branches but otherwise this one is ready to print!!
