This bird left the shingle and came towards me, almost too close for the minimum lens focusing distance.
A bit different from the usual shoreline images.

Hey Graham, I like the plumage on this individual. Nice alert posture. Beautiful BG. I like the grassy habitat too, but feel that it is a touch too bright. I would also have liked more room for the comp as the subject is large in the frame, with clipped feet (or at least not enough room below them). Perfect head angle!

Lovely plumage and nice to see it in a different habitat than the usual shingle. Amazing that the bird came towards you, they usually run away! You must have been well concealed. Another vote for a little more space all round.

I really like this- nice to see this bird in a different environment.
Great HA and POV.
I would reduce the brightness or exposure.
Love the BG colors and hope you have a bit more room below for the feet.
