I have not been birding much lately, but when the hummingbirds were migrating, I was able to get out for a few shots! Minneapolis MN last weekend 7Dll 100-400 ll at 400mm iso 640 f7.1 1/2000 handheld.

I like the pose and background on this one. A clear eye and pupil which is difficult to get on a Hummingbird.

I like the bird and the background. Great perch. Pollen on the beak is a nice bonus. However, I don't think you have sharp focus on the bird. The wing and face are sharper than the back and chest so I think a bit more depth of field would have helped here as well.

I like the perch, pose, complimentary BG and pollen adds to the image. Well done Michael.

I agree, I was about three ft from the subject. Would going down to f/11 have helped?

Hi Michael, lovely pose, and I like the colours on this fellow. I like the complimentary BG too. I agree with Isaac, the lack of DOF hurts this beautiful subject, and answering your question, being so close at 3ft, F/11 would not have helped that much at all.
