I took a trip to the University of Pretoria early yesterday morning, and came away with this Dirty Egret during a fly by. They were busy flying off to fetch nesting material for their nests. Unfortunately, on their return, they are flying a bit higher, and the light angle was not ideal, even though it was only 7.00 am.

Great wing position on the downstroke here Stu and the straight imaginary line right through tip of beak to trailing talons is very stylish. Interesting colouration---almost like it's been in a battle and come away bloodied with the blood of it's opponent.<script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/bb609cd7/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script>

Very sharp with nice wing position. I might clone out the light area in the middle of the left edge of the frame.
