I can't wait for winter and the arrival of ducks, I hope it's a good one this year.

Thanks for looking.

WOW! This is lovely.
Great IQ, BG and wing position.
You even have a slight head turn towards the viewer.
If this was mine (and I wish it was) I would dodge the darker area in the BG and eliminate the extra catchlight in the eye.
Very nice Tim!

Beautiful image Tom optimal focus and DOF wonderful exposure and details. I am ambivalent regarding the eye highlights, on the one hand it demonstrates authenticity on the other it can appear displeasing or less than perfect to others. I appreciate either view but tend to agree with your depiction, I like the image just as presented. Just about the most pleasing gadwall shot I have seen.

I can see why you're looking forward to the winter if this is the type of opportunity you can get. Top notch wings down pose and razor sharp - whats not to like?

I love the Gadwall plumage, and this shows it to perfection. Great wing position, excellent detail, exposure, HA. Ticks all the boxes. I'd take out the second catchlight, but that's a personal preference. Fine shot either way.

I agree about removing the second catchlight in this particular case, but all else is top notch! Fantastic flight pose, with that near wing being quite spectacular.

Tim I would have difficulty finding anything to change on this excellent image.

I did not see a second eycatch, for me is it great, like it is.

Great flight angle and BG. Lovely light...I might add more space above if you have and a little less below.

Near upper wing detail is spectacular and what this bird is all about. I'd recommend some Eye Doctor work as above and a bit of selective sharpening on the face as the sharpest focus seems to be on those spectacular wing coverts.

Kudos with the others. A minor eye fix and all is good.

Terrific image on a difficult subject. I'm good with the BG as is. I do think I agree on removing a catch light as long as you have no ethical issues with this, and also with a bit more sharpening of the head.
