This is another capture from my hide on the loch side. I don't know what the 'wee beastie' is, sharing the perch, maybe someone can identify this for me.

Sweet. Beautiful bird with great colors on subject and bg. Wonderful pose. The beastie is a nice touch.

Will, sweet image, nice and sharp with a nice BG and HA.
I hope you don't mind me suggesting, if you adjusted the curves a bit the image would pop a bit more.

Love the inclusion of the insect! Very pleasing colors and great feather details on your bird. I could see a little more room on top for a more conventional vertical.

Wow William, this is a rock star! Pretty much perfect. This is one of your best frames IMO. Oh ya, love the bug too.

This is gorgeous!
I love the colors, the comp, the bug.
Everything has come together beautifully !The BG "is to die for".
Congrats on one heck of a nice image!

Hi Will, very nice indeed although I find it a bit flat, but that might be due to the light? However just some tweaks in Sat and a Luminosity Saturation adjustment just perks things up I think. Not far off, but just a bit more life I think, killer BKG?

BTW, was this shot more to the West coast, as I know a spot for shooting these?

Nice work overall.

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. Hi Steve, thanks for that. This was at Kinghorn Loch where my hide is, about 2 miles from Kirkcaldy, my home town.

Great to know it's close to home.

They love new perches, so time to explore and also stretch your set-ups, start to think remote and wide angles. :S3:

Never tried the remote or wide angle before Steve. The hide is situated on the edge of the loch, there are a lot of perches in front of me, old trees and branches emerging from the water.

Old branches have character, and if these are regulars then time to think and explore Will, test the ground and plan. Can be fun, but frustrating, however nothing ventured nothing gained.
