This guy was very nice to sit still while I moved my tripod and 180 to within eight inch of his face. Fuji S3, Sigma 180, f/3.5, Tripod

Bill! :D I think it rocks! Love the DOF - you can barely make out the wings and yet everything else is so perfectly tuned. Great job, Mike! That right eye is a tiny bit hot on my monitor but I'm totally willing to overlook it out of respect for the dead...

I like the image very much overall. Great selective DOF and comp!!!
Flash or a reflector really would have helped make the image stronger by lightening up the face, also there is some haloing around the leg spikes and fine details.

Great shot, Mike. Everything spot on! Was it a cool morning? I have NO dragonflies up here that will let me come close unless they are lethargic with the dawn.
