Forster's Tern

This is a Juvie Forster's Tern that I captured last summer at a local beach wetlands. It had just missed a fish and was caught as it climbed up in the last minutes of beautiful light. I hope you like it.

lovely pose, sharp and terrific HA. I think in this case id remove the drop because it look more like something hanging out of the beak, but all the other drops are welcomed to stay! either way, a terrific juvi, learning the ropes. well done.

Ann, ya I thought about removing the one coming out of the beak as it's kind of elongated but I figured I would see what you guys and gals thought. Thanks

Lovely shot David, just hanging there. Keep the drops because they are near enough in focus not to look like artifacts. Initially I though the one from the beak was a fish.

Beautiful light and great pose. Your usual fine techs. I would certainly keep the drops; they show that he has just come up from the water. But I'm not 100% sure about the one from the beak.

Love the light and the pose.
I would like a touch more room all around for my taste.
I like the drops but would clone out the longer trail from the bill.
You are awfully close to blowing the whites on the forehead but I am on my laptop so I may be wrong.
The light really is sweet!

Love the light and the pose.

The drops have to stay in my opinion - they show that the bird is rising from the water and complete the 'story' of the frame.

The only nit for me are the whites on the forehead - maybe on a top level monitor they might be ok, but on my mid-level Dell they look hot.

Thanks so much everyone for the comments and the input.

I will probably remove the drop from the beak as I contemplated it before I posted it.

As for the whites on the forehead they look ok on my calibrated 5K monitor. I dislike grayish whites and I like to keep my whites "Clean" and "White" so I am usually right on the edge as Gail mentioned but they aren't blown in the TIFF.
