Hi Ann, Nice Osprey shot you handled the exposure well. It looks like it could use a bit of sharpening though.

HI Ann....I too think you did a fine job with your exposure. Love the tongue and the rim lighting on the bird. Your bg is also nicely out of focus and clean! I would sharpen the eye a bit more. Nice shot! Keep them coming!

Thank you for your comments! Ospreys are one of my favorite subjects!

Hi Ann, The WHITEs of the bird have a big yellow cast. I ran a layer of NIK Color Efex Pro White Neutralizer on the bird only and left the background as is.

Tip: put the eye dropper on the whites to see where you are. My favorite RGB #s for clean whites are right around 235, 235, 235.

ps: How big a crop? I ask because the image quality looks a bit suspect...

Hi Artie,
First, thanks for looking.
That photo is NOT cropped! I got that close because it is near a ferry dock. However, I may have done something when I resized for posting on line.
Thanks for info about whites...I did not notice the yellow.

I appreciate you taking the time to comment!
