My annual bird pilgrimage to some of the most unforgiving terrains for bird photography was very successful, talking about the himalayas here. Returned with some good images of rare birds and especially happy with this one. It was a very lucky moment as this black necked crane decided to come to the road and let me get ground level shots with the painted mountains in the bg. Hope you guys like it.

Quite stunning image of a bird I guess I will never see. The low POV was a great decision given the road surface he was on. Not knowing the bird, I can't comment on whether the light feathers are really as bluish as shown here.

Beautiful BG, and a great look at a rare bird. TFS.

Beautiful BG and the light is superb and I love the pose here. I don't even mind the HA.

Beautiful bird and image. The head angle is perfect. And the BKGR is exquisite. If you have the pixels, a small crop from behind and above would tighten up the composition.

Very nice colors, scenery, bird and light . Going tighter is a good idea, but I'd give a little more room below. Well done.

Amazing BG, and the rising foot gives the subject a good sense of it walking. I do see a bit of a bluish cast. I like Artie's crop idea - alternatively you could add back some at right and a sliver below if you have it.
