Welcome Doug. Great bird in nice light but not at all sharp... How large a crop is this? The face looks especially soft... Where was the AF sensor?

In an ideal world, the duck would have been parallel to the back of the camera rather than swimming slightly away.

welcome to BPN, Artie nailed the points. you got a nice pose with open beak and the water drop but the IQ is lacking as Artie mentioned. I also find the bright reflections in the BG a bit distracting. TFS and welcome again

Hi Arthur, thank you for the input the crop was about 50%, however I am using an non IS 600 and was using a jersey to rest on. Do you think I should look at a 500mm IS and sell the 600?

Hi Douglas, While I love IS lenses, IS would not be a factor with a 1/1250 sec. shutter speed. I made many sharp images with my non-IS 500 and 600 lenses and you should be able to do the same...
