Today's post is a little family portrait. As it shows the first steps in life are hard....thanks for the comments.

Such a nice picture. I love the the parent, the egg and the baby and those feet falling back. Just crazy cute!!! Really about the nicest Least Tern shot I have seen as far as parent and eggs and chick. Image quality is very nice. Only thing I see is that the shot seems to have a blue cast and the whites have a bluish/grayish tint and don't seem white. In this situation I use NIK and use the white neutralizer filter in Color Efex. Typically I use it at much less than 100% opacity. Most times between 25-50% until the whites are white. I am sure there are other ways to do that but that is a very simple way that I do it.

As cute as can be, Lorant. Great low angle, egg, sharp detail, and couldn't as for a better composition. Well done.

What an image Lorant, a terrific composition. Great chick behavior with those adoring eyes and those feet. I also like your focus and sweet BG too. Wonderful!

The raised feet of the chick and the egg add tremendously to this wonderful image.

Terrific find and capture, Lorant. Not often we get to see mom, chick and egg, all with nice head angles.:S3: It might be worth addressing that bluish cast, and possibly just a touch of sharpening on the mom's bill. But this is a great capture.

Thanks for the comments.

Here is a try with NIK white neutralizer filter as suggested by Isaac (at 40% opacity) and a little bill tip sharpening as suggested by Bill.

Lorant, I prefer the first image and feels the colors are more reflective of what you were shooting. I love way the chick is falling back and the lone egg fully visible in the image make for a terrific image. You also have a pleasing FG and I like seeing the pebbles or shells in the environment.
